Tom Brady (BAT)

Only 1 Quarterback made it to the 30 point plateau in Week 1…and he wasn’t even supposed to be there that day (apologies to Kevin Smith)…Fresh off his Federal Court victory over Roger Goodell…TDQBITU® was challenged on the NFL opening Thursday Night game by a Steelers defense who claimed they would “Jam Up” his #1 target to mess with their timing…they apparently have a very different definition of Jamming…as they allowed Brady to complete 78% of his passes for 288 yards…resulting in 15 1st Downs…4 Touchdowns…and 0 give-aways…finishing with a Passer Rating of 143.75…the victory is Brady’s 161st Regular Season win as the starting Quarterback for the Patriots…breaking a tie with Brett Favre (160 for the Packers) for the Most Wins as a Starting Quarterback With 1 Team…It is the 1st Quarterback of the Week award on the year for Brady…and the 1st trophy on the year for Bay Area Thrashers…

Carlos Hyde (XFA)

The 3rd Bears coaching change in 4 years was supposed to change the gameplan…but Matt Forte started the 2015 Regular Season right where he left off in 2014…He took 24 carries for 141 yards (5.8 ypc)…including a 1 yard Touchdown scamper on the left end that juked a Packers defender right out of his helmet…only his 5th score ever in 12 games against Green Bay…he then added 5 Receptions on 8 Targets (62.5%) for another 25 yards to reach 27 points…Carlos Hyde suited up for the late Monday Night game against the Vikings…and gradually wore them out over the course of the game…He averaged 5.5 yards per carry in the 1st Quarter…and expanded that to eventually averaging 7.5 yards per carry over the 4th Quarter…piling on a league high 168 yards and 2 Touchdowns on the night…he added 2 Receptions for 14 yards to crack the 30 point barrier…ending at 31…It is the 1st Running Back of the Week award for Hyde…and the 1st trophy on the year for X-Factor…

Julio Jones (BBA)

4 different Wide Receivers found their way to the 30 point promised land in Week 1 action…as mentioned in our Quarterback of the Week section…Gronk swatted the Steelers defense away like annoying gnats on Thursday Night…pulling in 5 of his 8 targets (62.5%) for 94 yards…while finding the endzone againand againand again…for a ridiculous 60% Touchdown to Completion ratio…ending on 32 points…Keenan Allen set a career high with 15 receptions (Previously 11, 2014 Week 13)…for a league leading and career high 166 yards (Previously 135, 2014 Week 4)…breaking the NFL Opening Game Reception record (14) set by Andre Rison in 1994…on his way to finish 1 point short at 31…Trailing the Chiefs 27-9 with 6:10 to play in the 4th Quarter…DeAndre Hopkins showed the true power of Garbage Time…he hauled in his final 5 Targets…tacking on 59 yards…4 1st Downs…and his 2nd Touchdown on the day…then nailed the 2-Point conversion pass from Ryan Mallet to force the tie at 32 points after Sunday games…Julio Jones took the field on Monday Night and tore through the Eagles defenders early…snagging 8 receptions for 97 yards (12.1 ypc) and 2 Touchdowns…all in the 1st Half…He added 1 last 4th Quarter reception for 44 yards down the sideline to take the lead with 35 points…It is the 1st Receiver of the Week award for Jones…and the 1st trophy on the year for Bubba Army…

Brandon McManus (BBA)

As always…our Golden Rule for Kickers is 11 points…5 Kick Opportunities…3 Field Goals and 2 Extra Points is the standard path…only 3 Kickers managed to reach that mark in Week 1…Steven Hauschka was the 1st to strike…running the standard path against the Rams with 3 Field Goals and 2 Extra Points to stay right at 11…never getting the chance in OT for another Kick Opportunity…Brandon McManus played in the Sunday Afternoon match and benefitted from the Broncos struggling offense…his 5 Kick Opportunities included only 1 Extra Point off a Defensive Score…but 4 Field Goals…including 2 bonus earning bombs from 56 and 57 yards to take the lead with 15 points…On Monday Night…Matt Bryant got 6 Kick Chances…2 Extra Points off the Wide Receiver of the Week’s TD’s…and 4 Field Goals…but none of them went for distance leaving him 1 point short at 14…It is the 1st Kicker of the Week award for McManus…and the 2nd trophy on the year for Bubba Army…

Carolina Panthers (BBA)

panthers2 Early Sunday Defenses were battling Head-2-Head against each other in Week 1…Hurricanes pitting the Seattle Seahawks vs the Carolina Panthers for the Army…The Seahawks took the early lead with a Tyler Lockett punt return Touchdown just 4:31 into the 1st Quarter…and held the Rams scoreless through the 1st period…The Panthers held the Jaguars to only 9 1st Half points while the Rams started to comeback on the Seahawks…Seattle managed 2 2nd Half sacks including forcing a Fumble from Nick Foles that was returned for a 2nd score…but Jacksonville fell apart in the 2nd Half under the Panther pressure…giving up 5 Sacks…and 3 Turnovers…including a 30 Yard Pick-6 to seal the deal at 23 points…Seattle gave up a final Touchdown with 59 seconds left in Regulation…and another 3 points on the game deciding Field Goal…pushing them into the negative scoring zone…falling back to 16 points…It is the 1st Defense of the Week award for the Panthers…and the 3rd trophy on the year for Bubba Army…

After Sunday games…4 Teams were vying for this award with their All-Bench team of quality starters left on the pine…Fudgie Whales left out Mariota’s perfect game, Nat-Gio, and De-Williams to sit at 62…Armed N Dangerous did not start Witten at home in Dallas to sit at 57…X-Factor left Percy Harvin behind to sit at 55…and Playground Legends left Roddy White aside to sit at 53…All 4 teams had players running on Monday Night…but only X-Factor and his award winning Running Back cracked the 100 point mark to claim a victory…Armed N Dangerous ended with only 1 2-Digit score in the starters column ending with a score even lower than their 67% efficiency rating…65 points is their lowest output since Week 9 of the 2010 Season (59) and claims the first Chump Award of the year…It makes Back-2-Back Chump Scores to open the season…is their 13th award for the franchise…and their 95th All-Time Loss…
