…Of The Weeks Awards…
There is a method to this madness…just follow along…After falling out of the 2015 Chump Survivor competition in Week 4…Playground Legends bounced back in a huge way in Week 5…6 Touchdowns led the way to an early Sunday lead…and then 1 more score on the way to 24 points on Sunday Night from Anquan Boldin let them reach 143…ending 3 teams attempts to come from behind finishing at 126..125…& 124…it is the 1st Team of the Week award for Playground Legends on the Season…their 14.33 time winning it as a Franchise…but much like Week 4…the championship effort was overkill because…
…their opponent X-Factor had a fall from grace…coughing up their 4-Game Win Streak to start the season in a 70 point effort full of under-performances across the roster…starting Hyde and Sims over Ingram and Williams would have let them crawl out of the basement slot at 90 points…but still could not have salvaged a win…It is X-Factor’s 1st Chump Score on the Season…and their 13th as a Franchise…with 110 games played…11.82% is the 2nd Highest Chump Rate among active teams (HUS 12.07%)…but all is not lost because…
…Week 6 proved to be another Bounce-Back…facing off in a Division Game with our defending Champions…X-Factor grabbed a shiny new helmet…fixed the kinks in their lineup…and racked up 100% Roster Efficiency to get to 154 points…their highest total since Week 5 of the 2013 Season (162…against PGL oddly enough)…they are the 1st Team to go from Chump-to-Champ in back-2-back weeks since…Playground Legends (2013…Weeks 11 & 12)…it is their 1st Team of the Week on the year…and they move into a tie with UOG and WAR with their 15½ award earned as a Franchise…
Sharing a Chump Score is a pretty rare event…happening only 9 times in the 228 Regular Season Weeks played in TBFL History (3.9%)…It happened 2 times in the 1st 7 games played of our Innaugural Season…It has been split among teams in the same Division 3 Times…but this is the 1st time the 2 teams played each other in the same game…it is our 1st Tie Score since Week 12 of 2013…with scoring bouncing back to our Week 2 Highs…96 points scored also sets a new record for the Highest Chump Score ever…supplanting the previous High of 86…that was also a Chump Share in Week 13 of 2009 (RNT & MNY)…It is the 1st Chump Score on the Year for Bay Area Thrashers..their 18th as a Franchise…It si the 2nd Chump Score on the Year for Armed N Dangerous…their 14th as a Franchise…
Chump Survivor
In Week 5…X-Factor and UO Grandmasters battled to see who would end at the bottom of the pile…Josh took a 0 from his Defense…while Eric gave 2 Points back with missed kicks…but ultimately the Santos Field Goal at halftime was enough to hold the 3 point edge from the cliff…
For Week 6…this is the 1st Shared Chump score that has mattered since we started the Survivor contest…in 2013 the Grandmasters had already been eliminated by Week 8…We went with Touchdown Tie-Breakers here…and the 3 from TDQBITU® were enough to counter the 2 scored on the Armed N Dangerous roster…(Manning & Hurns)…
Notes & Numbers
Week 5 made Back-2-Back weeks…and marked the 3rd time in 4 Weeks…that the Team of the Week played the Chump of the Week this season…1999 (over 6 Weeks) and 2007 (over 9 Weeks) are the only other years to have 3 of these games in the same Season…Playground Legends now leads participation in these contests with 6 appearances…going 3-3 in those games…
For the 1st time since Week 13 of 2009…No Team is on any Win or Loss streak…sitting at W1…L1…or T1 in the standings…
