Hunter is back with Week Three commentary for all this weekend’s TBFL action….
Before I get started on all things TBFL, I got to give some love to Baylor Bear’s QB Robert Griffin III.
Robert Griffin III has a ridiculous TD-to-INC ratio. Yes, I said incompletions. RG3 currently possesses a TD-INC ratio of 13-12. Again this is his TD-to-incompletions, not TD-to-interceptions rate. RG3 is currently 70 of 82 for 962 yards with 13 passing touchdowns and 1 rushing touchdown. In case you are wondering, RG3 currently has ZERO interceptions.
Let’s fire this up with the Buccaneers Division.
Runs N Throses 171, X-Factor 103
WOW! Just wow. Runs N Throses moved to 3-0 with a 171-103 blowout victory over X-Factor. Throses hit a perfect 100% efficiency rating. Once again the combination of The Dreamiest Quarterback in the Universe and former Texas Tech Red Raider, Wes Welker were dominant. The Brady-Welker combo threw down an amazing 81 points. Roddy White (23), LeSean McCoy (22) and Daniel Thomas (20) also scored 20 or more points in a truly magnificent outing. Former Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket, Calvin Johnson powered a decent X-Factor performance along with Mike Wallace and Big Ben but the rest of the team wasn’t ready for primetime.
Throses are an astounding 73.2 point favorite as they host Fudgie Whales while X-Factor is a touchdown favorite as they move on to face Bay Area Thrashers. Throses 171-point performance out-scored Fudgie Whales and Husslers COMBINED!!
Hurricanes 106, Warriors 101
Hurricanes won their second consecutive game with a 106-101 victory over a very game Warriors squad. Rob Gronkowski finally got a start and proved what he is capable of with 29 points to led the Hurricanes. In what can only be labeled an anomaly, fellow Tight End Jimmy Graham was second on the team with 20 points. In what will continue to be a familiar theme, The Dog Killer left the game with an injury that may or may not be serious. The Sex Cannon and Tim Hightower made things interesting for the Warriors but their effort fell short. Steve Johnson and Ray Rice combined for 45 points for the Warriors in the losing effort. It is of little solace but the Warriors can take some comfort knowing that no line-up combination could have won the game for them.
Hurricanes now face UO Grandmasters and the Warriors face the Bubba Army and both games are basically pick ‘em contests according the oddsmakers.
The Storm Division is all over the board right now.
Playground Legends 117, Bay Area Thrashers 111
Playground Legends moved into first place with a 117-111 win over Bay Area Thrashers. Both teams are now 2-1 on the season but Legends took a critical division win before the bye weeks commence. The stars once again aligned for Legends as their defense puts up another 20+ point effort. Without the Ravens brilliant performance this game would have been far different. Matt Schaub scored 29 points and Lance Moore tallied an impressive 27 points. The 23 points from the Ravens were sorely needed as the Legends running backs scored a combined 6 points. Bay Area Thrashers had good performances all-around with the only possible dud being Philip Rivers and his 11 points. Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert combined for 36 points as Thrashers ended up Chargers-heavy with their line-up. Former Charger Darren Sproles found some Kansas State Wildcat magic and tallied 20 points.
Despite both teams being 2-1 and facing 1-2 teams they are underdogs as X-Factor faces Bay Area Thrashers and Playground Legends travel to face Husslers.
Armed N Dangerous 122, UO Grandmasters 71
Armed N Dangerous (1-2) uses T&A to break into the win column with a 122-71 win over UO Grandmasters (2-1). Aaron Rodgers and Jermichael Finley were truly fired up for the night and combined for 58 points as they triggered a true team victory. MJD and All Day combined for 37 points as well. UO Grandmasters were firing blanks and could only manage to score a pathetic 71 points. UO did completely pillage AnD in a mid-week trade that deserves some kind of award. Matthew Stafford was gunned into the starting line-up and learned the UO offense quickly and notched a solid 26 points. The rest of the team was largely useless and the unbeaten Grandmasters tasted defeat. I find it awesome that TDQBITU referred to Deion Branch as the best WR in the NFL and Tom Terrific looked Deion’s way a grand total of ZERO times. UO suffered another loss as Kenny Britt wanted off the Grandmasters roster so badly that he tore his ACL and MCL to end his season.
UO Grandmasters now face Hurricanes and Armed N Dangerous is a 14 point favorite over Money Inc.
Let’s look at the NFC West.
Bubba Army (1-2) defeated Husslers (1-2) 123-103 and Money Inc. (1-2) defeated Fudgie Whales (0-3) 113-67. I really can’t find anything positive here to even write about.
Cam Newton gets his first start and stinks. The Sanchise gets benched and doubles up Newton. Fred Jackson was good. Drew Brees, Darren McFadden and Joe Flacco scored 32 points each.
The winless Fudgie Whales now face Runs N Throses in a battle of teams with three combined wins, all by Throses.
Bubba Army travels to Warriors. Money Inc. hosts Armed N Dangerous and Husslers welcome in Playground Legends.
