Statistically Speaking – Week 1

Each week (hopefully) I will highlight the numbers from that weekend’s TBFL performances.  I will try and make this a regular Wednesday feature going forward…but we’ll see….

Tom Brady (The Dreamiest Quarterback In The World Universe),  tore apart the Bubba Army defense for 517 passing yards and 4 passing TDs in addition to 3 rushing yards.  This performance on Monday Night stripped the Player of the Week title away from Drew Brees who looked to have locked it up early for Money Inc.

His Runs N Throses teammate Wes Welker was the primary benefactor as he  managed to take down the first receiver Player of the Week title managing  8 receptions for 160 receiving yards and 2 receiving TDs.

Ray Rice went wild on the Fudgie Whales getting loose for 107 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 42 receiving yards. This performance just edged out LeSean McCoy from making it a Player of the Week 3-peat for Throsers in Week One.

Sebastian Janikowski managed 2 extra points and 3 field goals including a monster 63 yarder in an effort to keep Armed N Dangerous close in their game against the Husslers.

In a weekend where some defensive squads literally cost their team a victory, Playground Legends needed every point generated by their Baltimore Ravens squad to eek out the one point triumph over Money Inc.

Team of the Week

Warriors

Mike Riley’s Warriors squeezed out a near perfect effort in their Kickoff Weekend matchup with Fudgie Whales leaving only 3 points on the bench.  They had to sweat it out on Monday Night however as Eric’s UO Grandmasters managed to only leave 2 points on the bench in their 140 point effort, and Runs N Throses stormed after them, puttering out just 3 points shy of taking down the first $25 prize of the 2011 Season.

Chump of the Week

Hurricanes

Hurricanes managed the 4th best Team Efficiency of 95.2% in Week One leaving only 4 points on his bench….but when the best possible outcome is only 84 points, it is hard to find victories in the TBFL.  Add some injuries to his roster this week, and Hurricanes will be looking to some of those future keepers to produce a little sooner than expected.
