The Android Rodgers continues to dominate….Hurricanes nails another 2 awards….2 Streaks come to a close….while another grows….New lows in the Bandit Division….A peek at the 2012 Schedule….and the current Playoff Picture….all after the break….
The Android continues to run away in the Player of the Year race nabbing its 4th Player of the Week trophy in the last 6 weeks….the 5th Player of the Week award for Armed N Dangerous on the year….It did let 7 balls touch the ground this week and its passer rating fell slightly to 140.28….but over the past 2 weeks it has a ridiculous Touchdown to Incompletion ratio of 66.67%….Going 23 of 30 for 250 yards and 4 scores with 21 more yards on the ground was literaly just enough to get the 1 point victory and move Armed N Dangerous into the #5 seed slot in the Playoff Race….
Arian Foster was just edged out of this spot in Week 9 but pushed forward to tie for highest scorer of Week 10 to ensure his 2nd Player of the Week trophy….the 4th award on the year for the Hurricanes….Not satisfied with averaging almost 5 yards a carry on the ground with a score….he converted on all 4 of his targets for another score and his 3rd 100+ yard receiving game on the year….Over the last 4 Weeks he has averaged 30.8 points per game and his 123 points over that time frame is more than double that of the #8 Running Back over the same 4 weeks….
In a game badly needed by the Husslers to stay in contention for the Bandit Division title….Jordy Nelson converted on all 5 of his passing targets for 63 yards and his 6th and 7th touchdown grabs on the year….His 23 points barely makes it past Laurent Robinson and Jimmy Graham to secure his 1st Player of the Week award….the 3rd trophy on the year for the Husslers….
The Kicker Roulette wheel almost kept spinning this week as Dan Bailey finished at 14 points for Fudgie Whales….but then previous Player of the Week winners David Akers and John Kasay also tied him with 14 points each of their own….we still cannot make sense of the MyFantasyLeague tie-breaking system….Akers was perfect on 5 kicks…Bailey was perfect on 8….but the award goes to John Kasay who missed 1 Field Goal and still managed to tie for the top score….He is the 2nd kicker to claim 2 trophies on the year….It is the 2nd award for Bay Area Thrashers….both claimed at this position….
In the battle to see which losing streak would continue….UO Grandmasters ended their run at 7 games thanks to the amazing play of their Chicago Bears defensive squad….2 sacks….2 fumble recoveries….4 interecptions including back-to-back Pick-6 grabs….and an 82 yard punt return touchdown….The 34 points is the 2nd highest score ever for a Defense in the TBFL and ties for highest score of the week….The badly embarrased Warriors offense will have to bounce back quickly to avoid extending their own losing streak to 6 games when they face the red-hot Hurricanes in Week 11….
Team of the Week
Hurricanes is not giving up on the Buccaneer Division Title race as they post the first back-to-back Team of the Week awards since X-Factor did it in Weeks 10 and 11 of the 2009 Season….In a week where average scoring across the league dropped 10% they managed to take this award with only 77.8% efficiency leaving 38 potential points on the bench….Their 8-2 record keeps them in the race with Runs N Throses and is better than the record of the other 2 Division Leaders….The only chinks in the armor right now appear to be the 2 injured ribs of Quarterbak Michael Vick….
Chump of the Week
It took 10 weeks, but the Bandit Division finally delivers the Chump-Slam with all 4 teams now receiving this award at least 1 time this year….With one of the greatest falls from grace in recent years…the Army managed to end their 7 game winning streak with an ‘efficiency rating’ of only 35.7% leaving 83 points on the bench….that is 3 points more than the Legends scored against them….The stat ranks as the worst efficiency in team history and the worst in the TBFL since Week 13 of the 2006 Season….That week featured the 2 worst ratings ever with the Tampa Outlaws managing only 31.6% and the Marauders managing only 34.9%,…the Marauders did set a record that week leaving 95 points on the bench….adding insult to injury….the Army had both The Bills and Cowboys defensive units playing against each other….they chose poorly and sucked down a League Record -14 for the position leaving the 2nd most points for the week (23) on the bench….a total swing of 37 points at one position….
Worst Ever Roster Efficiency | ||
Team | Eff | Year, Week |
Tampa Outlaws | 31.60% | 2006, Week 13 |
Marauders | 34.90% | 2006, Week 13 |
Bubba Army | 35.70% | 2011, Week 10 |
UO Grandmasters | 47.60% | 2006, Week 11 |
South Park Cows | 48.20% | 2007, Week 4 |
Winning in Their Yard
With the 8 point win over the Team of the Decade….Runs N Throses becomes only the 2nd team in 1 season to go a perfect 7-0-0 in Non-Division games….a feat that had previously only been accomplished by the 2002 South Park Cows….
Looking to Next Year
With only the Divisional Gauntlet to run over the last 3 Weeks of the Regular Season….the wins can be tallied to determine the A, B, and C Divisions for next year’s Schedule Matrix….The Buccaneer Division will take the A position away with a total of 30 wins….The Storm Division will take the B position with 26 wins….And the Bandit Division will remain in the C position with 22 wins….
Playoff Picture
After 10 Weeks of TBFL action….No team has locked up a Division Title yet….The Buccaneer Crown is still being raced for by Runs N Throses and Hurricanes….Hurricanes trails by only 1 game and holds the head-to-head tie breaker over Throsers….it may come down to who blinks in their Week 12 matchup….but either way these 2 are already locked into a playoff spot….The Bandit Division is also still a 2 team race….A win this week by the Army would have shut the door but their slip up keeps Husslers in the running at 3 games back with 3 to play….These teams will face-off in Week 11 in what could be the decisive game for this race….In the Storm Division Bay Are Thrashers are seeing last minute competition as Armed N Dangerous and Playground Legends have both moved to within 2 games with 3 to play….Thrashers will have to beat them both in successive Weeks 11 and 12 to secure their 6th Division Title….
If the playoffs started today:
