Week Four honors broken down for each position, and the numerological significance of the Week Four standings….
Michael Vick looked to be in the running dropping 34 on the Grandmasters, and Cam Newton edged him out putting 36 on the board against the Warriors, but Aaron Rodgers was a man on a mission for Armed N Dangerous….Scoring 4 times in the air and twice more on the ground he single handidly put up almost 70% of Money Inc’s total offense by himself….he ties Wes Welker’s Week 3 outing for highest point total this season….
Husslers decided the weak link in the Playground Legends game was on the ground as they completely abandoned the pass taking a goose-egg from their QB and relied instead on first round draft pick Matt Forte to pile on the offense….205 yards on the ground and a trip to the end zone cemented the first Player of the Week honor for the TBFL rookie team….
Runs N Throses has owned this position all year and Wes Welker piled on 30 points in an effort to take his third Player of the Week Award, but the streak has come to an end….Hakeem Nicks and his teammate Megatron both battled for this award but two more catches on Hakeem’s way to 167 yards and a score secured the WR Award for X-Factor….
Another week, another kicker, from another team….Matt Bryant wins the dice roll this week piling on 3 FG’s from 42, 47, and 50 yards along with 3 extra points in a losing effort for the Playground Legends….
The Legends do manage to Double Up on Special Teams this week as their Baltimore Ravens Defense continues to be the elite squad in the TBFL….with the exception of the Week 2 loss to Runs N Throses, they have managed at least 23 points in each game and are 21st in scoring from ANY POSITION in the entire league….This is their second award in a row and their third Player of the Week honor on the season….only the Bye this week MIGHT stop them from claiming it again….
Team of the Week
The Army made a run with a 93.5% efficiency rating, Husslers got closer while taking a zero from the QB slot, and both X-Factor and Thrashers battled within a touchdown of the title on Monday Night, but Armed N Dangerous still going strong from their Tits and Ammo Night victory managed to stay on top for their first Team of the Week on the season….Even taking out the 50 point effort from Rodgers, they still would be 2-2 on their run to take over the Storm Division….
Chump of the Week
Fudgie Whales looked like a lock to take this award for the third consecutive week, but getting not even a single catch from WR Devery Henderson left the Money Men 4 points behind the struggling Whales and claiming their first futility award of the season….their bench proved equally…effective?….scoring the same 72 points as the starters….
A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Panama
Going into Monday Night action, X-Factor was leading Bay Area Thrashers and the initial standings read….well very much like the actual results so far this year…..Starting from the top of the Buccaneer Division we went from the only 4-0 team, to the only 3-1 teams, then a run of 7 2-2 teams from the Buccaneer, thru the Storm Division, and into the lowly Bandit Division with the remaining 1-3 and 0-4 squads…..a pretty unique anomaly on its own…..but the 1 point come from behind victory for Thrashers changed things up a little and left us in the Palindromic (cause that’s a word….) Records we have now:
(4-0)
(3-1)
(3-1)
(2-2)
(2-2)
(2-2)
(2-2)
(2-2)
(2-2)
(1-3)
(1-3)
(0-4)
An equal number of squads at each record that can be flipped around and read the same again in either direction….I suspect some sinister plot being behind this and think an investigation may be needed of Monday night’s game film….
