Here we are…on Thursday…but still not missed a week…and prior to 8pm!…Shaft delivers…Running Backs break loose…The best Receiver plays for which team?…13 is the luckiest number…Big Chief plays D…Familiar faces in our Champ and Chump positions…Down to the Lucky 7 Survivors…and some Milestones to celebrate in this week’s edition…
Cam Newton (BBA)
2 Quarterbacks eclipsed 25 points in Week 6…Matt Stafford had a roster of injured Receivers, but still managed to lead the Lions to a victory against the Browns…Not an efficiency clinic going 25 of 43 (58.1%) for 248 yards…but he did throw 4 Touchdowns for the 1st time since 2011 (Week 7 v Green Bay)…1 give away brought him back down to 27 points…After shafting the Army for his last 5 outings…Cam Newton finally delivered a breakout game on a TBFL field…20 of 26 passes were completed (76.9%) for 242 yards (12.1 ypc) with 3 Touchdowns…he pulled ahead of Matt with another 30 yards on 9 carries including a 7 yard scoring scamper to reach 33 points…It is the 1st Player of the Week award for Newton since 2011…the 2nd trophy on the season for Bubba Army…
Knowshon Moreno (PLA)
A plethora of Running Back scores emerged in Week 6 with 16 of 22 starters in double digits (72.7%)…Bush, Foster, Jacobs and Ridley all found their way to 23…Week 3 winner Jamaal Charles matched his Week 5 touches with 22 carries and 5 receptions for 128 combined yards but added 1 more Touchdown to reach 29 against a weak Raiders Defense…Week 2 winner Marshawn Lynch sliced a weak Titans D for 2 scores as well on 25 touches…edging just ahead on 1 less catch but 27 more combined yards at 155 to reach 30 points…but the pourous (or is it poorest…) Jaguars defense gave us our Week 6 winner in Knowshon Moreno…42 yards on 15 carries was a woeful 2.8 per carry average…but 3 carries went into the endzone…he also lead all starting backs in receptions pulling in 7 of his 10 targets for 62 yards to end the day on 35 points…tying the Legends Team Record for the position (Gore, 2010 Week 2)…It is the 1st Player of the Week award for Moreno on the year…the 6th trophy for Playground Legends (who have STILL not released any smack talk or tea bags)…they are now only a Kicker away from hitting for the cycle…
Justin Blackmon (FUD)
A battle of Wide Receivers from winless teams tops the rankings this week…after being traded away to AND (against advice given to BBA…) Vincent Jackson finally remembered he is a #1 Receiver…after getting 41 targets without a Touchdown in his previous starts…Jackson clicked with rookie QB Mike Glennon pulling in 9 of his 14 targets for 114 yards (12.7 ypc) and 2 2nd Quarter scores…1 more end zone target fell incomplete in the 4th quarter ending his day at 32 points…On the other winless Florida franchise…since returning from suspension in Week 5…Justin Blackmon has earned his Carvel Cake…He leads all receivers in Targets (29), Receptions (19), Yards (326), and Fantasy Points (57)…while kept out of the end zone…he hauled in 13 of his 1st 17 targets (76.4%) for 180 yards…to reach 31…and would finally take over the lead with his final 10 yard grab at 1:24 left in the 4th Quarter to reach 33 points…It is the 1st Player of the Week award for Blackmon…the 5th trophy for Gasper and the Fudgie Whales who have now completed the cycle with an award at every position…
Stephen Gostkowski (BBA)
Only 2 kickers made the Spinal Tap cutoff this week and ended in an unlucky tie…Mason Crosby accounted for 68% of Green Bay’s point production against the Ravens…Only 1 Extra Point…but 4 Field Goals made including a distance bonus earning 50 yarder in the 3rd Quarter looked to be enough…but he fell back to 13 points with a missed 25 yard chip shot…Stephen Gostkowski followed the Golden Path nailing 2 Extra Points and 3 Field Goals…including his own distance earner of 54 yards…to sit at 12…but as TDQBITU completed the Touchdown pass to Thompkins with :05 left on the clock that sank our winning record in the 5-Star this weekend…the extra Extra Point let Gostkowski climb into the tie at 13 points…MFL voters went with kick accuracy (100% v 83.3%) to break the tie…It is the 1st Player of the Week award for the Patriot and the 3rd trophy on the mantle for Bubba Army…
Kansas City Chiefs (BAT)
Defenses win games in this league…Money Inc claimed a 13 point victory on the back of the Rams squashing of the Titans…They turned up the pressure getting 5 sacks and forcing 4 turnovers…taking both a Fumble and an Interception into the end zone…while allowing only 13 points scored to top out at 27 points…Thrashers rode the Kansas City Chiefs to victory over Armed N Dangerous allowing only 7 points to the Raiders offense…sacking Terrelle Pryor 10 times…and getting 2 Interceptions of their own to sit at 22…but then with only 1:35 remaining in the 4th Quarter…they snagged 1 more pass for a 44 yard Pick-6…the 8 point play gave them the edge at 30 points…a Team Record for Bay Area Thrashers and tied for the 8th highest Defense score…It is the 1st Player of the Week award for the Chiefs and the 3rd trophy earned for the Thrashers…
Team of the Week
Things returned to normal with X-Factor not contending and our defending TBFL champions ending on top again in Week 3…Their Divison rival Armed N Dangerous had the only squad with the Potential Score to beat them (160) in their head-2-head match up…but a 38 point explosion from Vernon Davis left on the bench while Rice continued to look like one of the biggest 1st round busts of the year left them wanting with a 20% efficiency rating deficit (92.5 to 72.5)…Money Inc’s 97.6% efficiency was the closest contender at 123 points as Kevin’s squad claims their 3rd Team of the Week award on the season…1 away from tying their Team Record of 4 in a season (2005)…
Chump of the Week
Like a bouncing rubber ball…Josh’s team find’s their way to the bottom for the 3rd time this season…in almost alternating weeks…the 92 point drop from their Team of the Week grabbing 162 is the 3rd highest fall of all time…nearly matching their 103 point drop almost 1 year ago between Weeks 6 and 7 of the 2012 season…UO Grandmasters had worse efficiency at 67.2%…but taking away the TOTW score…X-Factor is still averaging only 101 Potential Points each week…only 95 for Week 6…
Chump Survivor
The Average Score fell 7 points in Week 6 to 103…the 2nd lowest level of the year (101, Week 3)…and 4 teams still in competiton fell below the mark…UO Grandmasters was low man on the totem pole at 78 and is the 5th team removed from the pool…Warriors just skates by the cut line for the 3rd week in a row followed only 1 point back by Playground Legends…currently it looks to be a race between Hurricanes and Thrashers as the only squads to put up 100+ every week of the season…
Notes and Numbers
At 126 points…the KC Defense is the 9th best PLAYER in the league this year…at any position…They are currently #1 in Sacks (31), Interceptions (10), Fumble Recoveries (8), and Points Allowed (65)…
Bay Area Thrashers are now on a 5 game winning streak…while Husslers has fallen to a 4 game losing streak…
Hurricanes victory over Warriors extends that streak to 7 in a row against their Division Rivals…it was their 50th Overall Win…at 78 games played to reach that mark (64.1% Win Rate) they are the 2nd fastest to do so behind Dookie and The Crew who are tied for 1st at 77…
With their win over UO Grandmasters…Playground Legends have now won 25 Division Games…taking 62 games played to reach that Milestone (40.3% Win Rate)…

Peyton Manning improved his career regular-season record to 160-70 and is only the 2nd Quarterback in NFL history to be at least 90 games over .500…

This Team is Historic
The Steelers victory over the Jets was the 600th in Franchise History, including the postseason, as Pittsburgh became only the 4th team to reach the milestone and the first from the AFC…
