Drew Brees (BBA)

TDQBITU® looked to set the high bar at 33 points on Thursday Night against the Dolphins…but ultimately the Week 8 Quarterback competition came down to 2 Signal Callers going Head-2-Head to see who would blink 1st…Drew Brees and Eli Manning apparently used their Cheat Codes to get the opposing Defenses set to All-Star Game mode as they completed passes at will throughout the contest…Brees threw 50 times..completing 39 of those passes (78.0%) for 505 yards..the 2nd most of his career…and tied the NFL Record with 7 Passing Touchdowns…giving up 2 Interceptions on the day to finish with 51 points…Manning threw 41 times…completing 30 of those passes (73.2%) for 350 yards and a career high 6 Touchdowns with 0 giveaways…good enough for the top Passer Rating on the day (138.2) but fell short with 41 points…Still a new Team record for Husslers (37 Tom Brady…2014 Week 8)…it is the 1st Quarterback of the Week award for Brees who finishes 1 Point short of the TBFL Quarterback Scoring Record (52 Michael Vick…2010 Week 10)…for the Army it is their 5th overall trophy on the year…now just a RB award short of completing the cycle…

Todd Gurley (BAT)

New England Patriots (PGL)

patriotsWeek 8 was a crap shoot for Defenses…as 5 hit 2-Digit scoring…and 3 cost their team points…ultimately costing X-Factor a win in their contest with Bay Area Thrashers…the Patriots took the Dolphins to the woodshed on Thursday Night…and no other team ever really challenged them for the title…After his Perfect Rating in Week 7…Tannehill came back to earth…HARD…getting sacked 5 times…giving up 2 Interceptions and a Fumble out of the back of the End-Zone for a Safety…save for a 1 yard Touchdown run from Lamar Miller…the Dolphins were held scoreless for 3 quarters as the Patriots reached 19 points…It is the 1st Defense of the Week award for the Patriots and Playground Legends…it is the Legends 6th trophy overall for the year…and they are now just a Wide Receiver award away from completing the cycle…

Teams of the Weeks

uog-helm-250px
Blue Suede Shoes were in order for Week 7 as the Top-2 scoring teams faced off against each other…Hurricanes hit 2-Digit scoring at every position and managed 100% Roster efficiency to reach their highest score of the season at 141 points…but it was not enough…UO Grandmasters matched the 2-Digit at every position outcome reaching 150 points…still leaving 6 points on the bench…It is the Grandmasters 3rd Team of the Week award on the Season…their 16½ time winning the award as a Franchise…

rnt-helm-250px
After finishing Week 7 with a Bench Roster that would have won their game for the 2nd time this season…Bubba Army got the right players loaded up in Week 8…using Brees and his award winning play to finish in the Sunday lead with 141 points…but it was not enough…Runs N Throses trailed by 21 going into Monday Night action with the combo of Cam and Olsen to play…thru 44:39 seconds of play…both players were stifled…but then the Magic Connection happened bringing them the lead…the Overtime period finally capping them out at 161…Throsers highest score of the Season…it is Shawn’s 1st Team of the Week on the year…their 19th time winning the award as a Franchise…

Chumps of the Weeks

fud-chump-250px

As mentioned in the Week 2 Report…I did not think Sub-40 scores were still possible in this Modern Age PPR system…but now we have a 2nd offender just 5 weeks later…forgetting to swap out your Bye Week defense is bad…but would still have been no help…as the Starters and Bench combined scored only 63 points…still not enough to escape this award…Jason has to be looking at his pre-draft roster of Keenan Allen (17)…Allen Robinson (21)…& Devanta Freeman (14) and wonder where things went wrong…it is the 1st Chump Score earned by the Whales since Week 5 of the 2011 Season…ending the League Leading streak of 53 straight weeks without earning a Chump Score…it is only the 9th time earning it as a Franchise…

After a few weeks off…Money Inc finds themselves at the bottom of the scoring heap again in Week 8…When it rains it pours…and hails…and fucking floods on Tim…as this now makes the 3rd time in 7 Weeks he has been the COTW that played the TOTW…the 4th time it has happened this season…7 0’s on the bench means they reached 95.7% Roster Efficiency from their 69 possible points…still not enough to escape this position in Week 8…there were just no players here to build a score with…it is their 4th Chump Score on the season…Their 18th earned as a Franchise…

Chump Survivor

Average scoring for Week 7 dropped a huge 10 point chunk to 105…Fudgie Whales fell harder than that with their 1st Chump Score earned since 2011 removing them from the 2015 Chump Survivor competition…this is the earliest the Whales have ever left the competition…finishing in Week 9 of 2014…and Back-2-Back as finalists in 2012-2013…
2015-cs-wk07

For Week 8…Average Scoring fell 2 more points to 103…All 6 of our previously ejected teams finished as the bottom 6 teams for the week…meaning the previous Team of the Week UO Grandmasters was left as the bottom rung among the Top Tier…leaving with the highest evicted score on the year at 101 points…
