Yeah…I know…posting after the Thursday kick-off…but in all fairness Ms. Commish had me running around getting supplies we most likely will not need for Hurricane Matthew…QBs approach perfection…Fumbles cost trophies…Career Best WRs…Kickers still better than Receivers…Copy-Cat Defense…High Scores…Low Scores…and some quick numbers to watch…lets go…
Ben Roethlisberger (HUR)
This competition came down to the really early and really late games on Sunday…Across the pond in the ‘Dude it’s 6:30 am on the West Coast – Why can’t London have a night game’ Blake Bortles led the Jaguars past the Colts with a mediocre outing…19 of 33 (57.6%) passing for 207 yards and 2 Touchdowns with no rips was good enough for a 96.4 Passer Rating…but he did run for 36 yards on 7 carries (5.14 ypc) including a goal line plunge for a 3rd Touchdown to reach his highest score of the year at 27 points…the starter score held until the Sunday Night match up…where Big Ben treated the Chiefs Defense as if it were an All-Star Game…he threw as many Touchdowns as he did Incompletions going 22 of 27 (81.5%) for an even 300 yards and 5 Scores…just 1.4 more Yards per Attempt (38 yards) would have resulted in Big Ben’s 4th Career Perfect Passer rating…but instead he ends at ‘only’ 152.5…an extra 2 Point Conversion pass finished the day at 37 points…it is the 1st Quarterback of the Week award for Roethlisberger and the 2nd trophy on the year for Hurricanes…
DeMarco Murray (FUD)
7 different Running Backs from 5 TBFL teams managed to rumble their way past the 20 point barrier in Week 4…Le’Veon (Double Cap with an apostrophe now) Bell came back from suspension to post the highest Rushing total of the day with 144 yards on his way to 22 points…Isaiah Crowell posted 142 total yards from scrimmage and a Touchdown to go ahead to 23 points…Melvin Gordon had the most Receptions among the starting Running Backs with 6 on 7 targets…he totaled only 79 yards of offense but 2 Touchdowns and a lost Fumble edged him further ahead with 24 points…DeMarco Murray had only 2 catches for 24 yards…but he added 95 yards on the turf and 2 Touchdowns with 0 give aways to hold the top spot at 25 points…it is the 1st Running Back of the Week award for Murray…and the 1st overall trophy on the year for Fudgie Whales…
Julio Jones (MNY)
We had 3 30+ Receivers in Week 4…AJ Green got things started early in Thursday Night action against the Dolphins…he piled up 8 Receptions for 123 yards and a Touchdown before Halftime…he added only 2 more catches for 50 yards in the game to end at 173 to reach 33 Points…Michael Crabtree suited up for the 99th NFL game of his Career against the Ravens and rolled 7 catches on 12 targets into 88 yards…but 3 of them went for Touchdowns…a Personal Best for Crabtree who only had 6 Career 2-Touchdown games prior…matching the 33 Points…defending the Home Turf as an Underdog (CAR -3)…Julio Jones was a man on fire…he pulled in 11 of 14 targets for 225 yards and 7 First Downs thru 3 Quarters…then put the final nail in the Carolina Coffin with a 75 yard Touchdown strike at 3:58 left in the 4th Quarter to end on an even 300 yards (Career Best…Prev 259…2014 Wk 13) and 48 points…it is the highest player score this year…ties as the 4th highest Wide Receiver score in TBFL history…and is a new team record for Money Inc (Anquan Boldin…44…2007, Week 3)…it is the 1st Wide Receiver of the Week award for Jones and the 2nd overall trophy on the year for Money Inc…
Mike Nugent (AND)
3 Kickers made it to 2-Digit scoring in Week 4…but the only player to reach 11 or better was the 1st to play on Thursday Night…after going undrafted…and then sitting on the Waiver Wire through 3 Weeks of action…Armed N Dangerous gave the 11 year veteran a shot at filling in for Mason Crosby as he and the rest of the Packers took the week off…Nugent responded by matching his Career High…nailing 5 Field Goals against the Dolphins…and added 1 Extra Point to end the night at 16 Points for his 6 Kick Opportunities…it is the 1st Kicker of the Week award for Mike Nugent…and the 1st trophy on the year for Armed N Dangerous…leaving Playground Legends as the only team without a Player Award through 4 Weeks…
Kicker Extra Point
176 total Field Goal yards for Mike Nugent was 3 yards better than the total postd by AJ Green…and 12 yards better then all of the Miami Dolphins receivers combined on Thursday Night…(yeah…I’m still on a Kicker vs Receiver kick…just wait till Dez misses another game…)
Denver Broncos (HUR)
This is the 3rd category that had us running early with Thursday Night action…the Cincinnati Bengals gave up a quick strike 74 yard Touchdown pass to Kenny Stills at 9:04 in the 1st Quarter…and that’s it…only 148 total yards of Offense were allowed after that…Tannehill was tormented with pressure…getting sacked 5 times…coughing up 1 Fumble and 1 Interception…the low score bonus gave the Bengals the early lead with 17 points…the Denver Broncos attempted to post a Mirror Match against their Florida Team opponent…Jameis Winston capped a 75 yard drive with a rushing Touchdown at 6:40 in the 1st Quarter for the Bucs…and that’s it…only 140 total yards of Offense were allowed after that…Denver matched the Fumble Recovery and 5 Sacks..but managed 2 Interceptions to edge ahead with 19 points…it is the 1st Defense of the Week award for the Broncos…and the 3rd overall trophy on the year for Hurricanes…
Team of the Week
The 2 Scoring Leaders on the Season thru 3 Weeks…Bubba Army and Armed N Dangerous…played head-2-head in Week 4…after Thursday action they were tied for the lead with 33 points each…After all the really early…and normal early…and afternoon Sunday games…the Army had climbed up to 146 points…the Steelers explosion on Sunday Night Football brought Armed N Dangerous up to cap out at 120…and a 59 point explosion for Hurricanes brought them to 130 with the Vikings Kicker still to play…the Giants D had given up 15 and 17 point games to kickers already this season…but all Extra Points on Monday Night left Hurricanes short at 135…it is Bubba Army’s 3rd award of the year…their 1st Back-2-Back win since Weeks 7 & 8 of the 2004 Season…they have now won 5 of the last 7 weeks…and extend their league leading record with their 32nd win as a Franchise…
Chump of the Week
After the Sunday PM games it was clear this would be a race between X-Factor with 4 1-Digit scores at 51…and Playground Legends with 2 1-Digit scores and 2 slots of negative points at 56…Jeremy Maclin gave Josh the boost to 63 points after Sunday Night Football…leaving the match-up of Victor Cruz vs the Giants Defense on Monday Night…While Riley’s G-Men were left goose-egged with 0 Sacks..0 Turnovers…and 24 Points Allowed…Danny had Victor Cruz manage to catch his 5th Reception finishing on exactly 50 yards with 2:48 in the 4th Quarter to take the 3 point lead 66 to 63…it is X-Factor’s 1st award on the year…ending an 11 Week streak of avoiding this title…it is their 14th overall Chump Award as a Franchise…extending their league leading Chump % to 11.57% of Regular Season games played (121)…
Chump Survivor
Average scoring in Week 4 fell back 6 points to 103…matching Week 2 for the lowest of the Season…only 5 teams managed to reach that thresh hold…X-Factor being the 3rd Chump Team since we started the contest eliminates them this week…with more teams facing Bye Weeks…the teams at the bottom will have to be careful…Playground Legends only had 90 Possible Points…not good enough to pass anyone on the ladder…while Warriors (90.7%)…Runs N Throses (92.9%)…and UO Grandmasters (100%) had to rock their Roster Efficiency just to finish where they did…
Notes and Numbers
