Week 3 is almost here and I already find I will barely have time to update these posts…but I want to get SOMETHING out…I doubt I will get them done weekly…so I’ll just number them as episodes instead…I doubt I will get in-depth Player of the Week analysis done…but maybe if something stands out I will write it up…maybe something here will inspire someone else to pick up the mantle…or get on their podium…or soap box…or whatever…
These posts will probably look more like the old Notes and Numbers section for the time being as I was at least able to update my database thru the current week and throw some things together…here we go…
Hot Starts
FantasyPros listed Kevin as the pre-season TBFL favorite…and his team has lived up to the billing…164.55 points scored is a new TBFL record for Week 1…surpassing their own previous high of 164 set in 2014…132.85 points scored by Warriors was their highest output in 15 Weeks (2016 Week 11)…their combined score of 297.40 is the 5th Highest Combined Score of all time…the Warriors loss ranks as the 12th Highest Losing Score of all time…as Thrashers handed out the 1st Week 1 Elvis Score since 2005 (Bay Area Thrashers 123 vs South Park Cows 106)…and claimed the 1st Team of the Week award on the season….
The elder Riley did not take it to heart…the team took down the Week 2 record (2012 Bubba Army | 166) with a new season high of 166.40 points…the 17th Highest Score in TBFL History…and snatched the Team of the Week trophy away from Thrashers…who set another record of their own with a 162.90 point effort…
This makes the 1st time any team has posted back-2-back 160 point outings at any point in a Season…and the 327.45 points scored is the most ever after Week 2…breaking Runs N Throses previous record of 306 from the 2011 Season…
The Week 1 award gives Bay Area Thrashers their 2nd Team of the Week trophy in the last 3 Weeks of TBFL Play….they are now the 2nd Team to claim 30 Career Team of the Week trophies…maintaining a a 12.71% Champ Rate in their 236 Regular Season Games…
The Week 2 award for Warriors ends a 46 Week drought going back to Week 8 of the 2014 Season…it is their 17th time winning the title…capturing it in their 250th Regular Season Game…
Lucky 250
In addition to Warriors…2 other teams reached the 250 Regular Season TBFL Game Milestone…
Runs N Throses celebrated their 250th Regular Season TBFL Game on the road with a T&A Night victory over Gorilla Warfare 107.35 to 96.30…
UO Grandmasters came home to celebrate their 250th Regular Season Game by raising their 3rd Championship Banner and beating Money Inc 121.45 to 101.85…
For Every Winner…
As Kevin pointed out in his 1st Weak Observations Report of the Season…the Bandit Division got of to a rollicking 0 and 4 start…the 1st Division to be shut out in the opening week since the 2012 Storm Division accomplished the same feat…
Fudgie Whales 62.50 point effort proved to be the lowest of the low…they earn the 1st Chump of the Week title of the 2018 Season…now claiming this award in Week 1 of back-2-back seasons…it is their 2nd time claiming the trophy in the last 4 Weeks…and their 12th overall…maintaining a 9.09% chump rate as a Franchise…
That’s right…when you ask for a new logo set for your team re-branding it also includes the crushed version for your rivals to celebrate as well…Peyton Barber had 18 touches in the Buccaneers win over the Eagles…but only managed to turn that into 29 yards…proving to be the weak link in the Warfare lineup…96.3 points scored is the 2nd Highest Chump Score ever…trailing only Money Inc’s 97 point output in Week 9 of 2013…those 2 weeks are the only ones on record where only 1 team failed to reach the Century Mark….there has still been no week where every team made it…while it is the 1st Chump of the Week earned under this name…it is the 20th award for the Franchise…becoming the 5th team to cross that threshold…
Current Streaks
Getting tired now so gonna wrap this one up…going back to last season UO Grandmasters is unbeaten in 5 straight Regular Season Games…while Bubba Army has not found a victory in that same time frame…I have also updated the charts with current runs without a Champ or Chump award….
And finally…Week 3 means the 1st Divisional Week matches…here are the charts showing the last time a team won their Division…and the last time they turned that free trip to the Playoffs into a meaningful victory….
