Statistically Speaking

3 Weeks in a row…and on Tuesday Night no less…Quarterbacks can score…Alvin Kamara owes me 40 bucks…Wide Receivers have that…X-Factor…15 is the new 11…Bills get shredded…A Blue Suede Shoe battle for Team of the Week…our 1st repeat Chumper…Streaks get busted…SOOOO Many Points…lets go…

Players of the Week

Mitchell Trubisky (HUR)

Tell me if you’ve heard about this rule change in the NFL…it really hurts Defenses and makes Quarterbacks look like Gods…8 Different QB’s posted efforts over 30 points in Week 4…and Blake Bortles was 16 yards away from making it 9…Thursday Night opened us up with Kirk Cousins remembering how to throw again on the short turnaround from the Week 3 debacle vs the Bills…he went 36 of 50 Passing for 422 yards and 3 Touchdowns to take the early TBFL lead at 36.90 points…he lost the game to Jared Goff who pitched a perfect 158.3 QB Rating getting 465 yards and 5 Touchdowns of his own to post 43.95 points on the Money Inc bench…in the Overtime Game between the Colts and Texans…Andrew Luck used the extra period to lead all passers with 62 Attempts…beating his personal record of 55 dating back to his 4th game ever played in 2012…he connected on 40 for 464 yards and 4 Touchdowns on the way to losing the game…but posted a new Franchise Record of 41.30 points for UO Grandmasters (Andrew Luck 38|2014 Week 13)…as Kevin explained in his Weakly Observations…Hurricanes ‘MISSED’ on getting Eli Manning (QB22|18.25 points) and Ryan Tannehill (QB33|3.0 points) off of Waivers and was FORCED to settle with Mitch Trubisky who was coming off a Sub-10 point effort against the hapless Cardinals…but that is why we play the game…he destroyed the Buccaneer Defense for 6 Touchdowns and 354 Passing Yards on only 19 completions from 26 attempts…a 23.1% TD to Attempt ratio…and 17.7 yards per Passing Attempt…he then added insult to injury matching the effort with 53 Rushing Yards on only 3 Carries for a 17.6 yards per Rushing Attempt average…and he did it all in basically 34 minutes of action…throwing only 4 passes in the final 26 minutes of the game…47.0 points is the 5th highest Quarterback score ever posted in the TBFL…

Alvin Kamara (BAT)

Here is news we have not been able to say this year…Bay Area Thrashers posted the WORST Running Back start of the week…getting only 2.65 points from Jordan Howard…but now the news gets worse for the rest of us…as Tarik Cohen is ready to pounce into action from the Thrashers bench posting the 5th highest Running Back total of the week with 30.90 points…yes…5 more Running Backs posted 30+ points in Week 4…over a Touchdown better than the bottom 5 Starters combined (23.9)…but this one is all about Alvin…again…winding things down in the 4th Quarter…it had been a NICE outing…5 catches for 47 yards…2 Touchdowns and 85 yards on 18 carries…having more Rushing Yards then Receiving Yards for only the 4th time in his career…30.2 Fantasy Points…ready to close things out…it’s 1st and 10 just over mid-field…the Saints will just run this one into the line to reach the 2:00 minute warning…

The worst part of that for your Commish was watching his $129.04 in DraftKings winnings…

…come crashing down to only $85.90…because of 1 fucking play…41.1 points is now the 15th highest TBFL Running Back score of all time…and the 2nd highest of this Season…it is Alvin’s 3rd Running Back title of the Year…and the 4th straight award for Bay Area Thrashers…

Cooper Kupp (XFA)

After sniffing this title with 4 Top-10 finishes in the 1st 3 Weeks…X-Factor just dominated with 3 of the Top-4 Wide Receivers performances in Week 4…and the only 2 Starters to go over the 30 point barrier…DeAndre Hopkins 169 yards trailed only Julio Jones 173 on the Weekend…and is the 4th highest output of his Career…10 Receptions ties for his 2nd best ever…and a Touchdown ended the day at 32.9 points…Cooper Kupp set his own personal bests…getting Career Highs with 11 Targets…9 Catches…162 yards…and the 1st 2 Touchdown game of his Career to finish with the lead on 37.2 points…

Justin Tucker (HUR)

5 Kick Opportunities…3 Field Goals and 2 Extra Points…has been the Golden Path mantra to 11 points and a winning Kicker score for years in this column…but when the Average NFL Game Score is now 48 points…that is not good enough…after taking this award in Week 3…Will Lutz followed up with an even better performance against the Giants…2 Extra Points and 4 Field Goals including a bonus earner from 42 yards out was good enough for 14.2…but then there was that Kamara run…and the extra Extra Point to reach 15.2 and lead the weekend…On Monday Night against the Steelers…Justin Tucker got 2 quick Extra Points of his own…then ripped back-2-back bonus earners from 47 and 49 yards going into the 4th Quarter…a 10:17 drive was capped off with a 28 yard chip shot to reach 12.6…but then a quick turn around from a Roethlisberger interception on the next drive gave him 1 last chance to take down the week on a 37 yard Field Goal with 15.6 points…the 4th kicker score over 15 points in 4 weeks…

Green Bay Packers (XFA)

After 4 weeks…the 32 NFL Teams are averaging an NFL record 5.6 yards per play attempted…an NFL record 20.9 1st Downs per game…an NFL record 362.3 Yards per game…and an NFL record 24.0 Points per game…this has resulted in 17 different Team Defenses posting Negative TBFL scores…so finding a quality start is a tough job in 2018…The Packers Defense dominated the Bills in every facet…Josh Allen was sacked 7 times…including the Final Play of the game…and gave up 2 Picks and a Fumble along the way…7 of the Bills 12 possessions resulted in 3 and Outs…and they only converted 3 of 13 3rd Down attempts on their way to being completely Shut-Out…giving the Packers the full 15 point Bonus to reach a Season high 28.00 points on the weekend…tied for the 10th Highest Team Defense TBFL score of all time…

Team of the Week

Bay Area Thrashers took the early lead on Thursday Night with a 53.10 explosion from Todd Gurley and Adam Thielen…staying just ahead of Warriors (48.9) and X-Factor (48.2)…in total 206.20 Fantasy Points were scored in that 1 game…and that is including the -7.0 to the Vikings Defense…X-Factor piled on another 88 points in the AM session to take the lead with 136.6…and topped out at 163.4 after the PM games were completed…with Kamara’s outburst in the PM session…and Boswell almost matching his season total with 6 points in Sunday Night action…Kevin’s squad had clawed up to 2nd place with 131.70 points…within reach of Patrick Mahome’s 33.8 point per game average on the season…the Chiefs star opened Monday Night with a 10 play…60 yard drive but had to settle for a Field Goal…he then led a 12 play…89 yard effort and capped it off by calling his own number on an 8 yard scramble into the end-zone…but he would not find the goal line again until 6 minutes were left in the 4th quarter…finishing the night 5.8 points short at 25.9

157.6 is now the 2nd most points ever scored in a loss…and 321.0 is now the 2nd most combined points ever scored in a TBFL game…both records currently held by…X-Factor…in a 173 to 158 loss to Hurricanes in Week 13 of the 2011 Season…it is our 2nd Elvis Score of the Season….another database I need to build out…X-Factor’s 163.40 points is the 3rd highest score in their Franchise History (182|2012 Week 06)…it is their 1st Team of the Week since Week 1 of 2017…ending a 15 week run without a title…and it is their 19th trophy earned overall…a Champ Rate of 12.93%…

The two teams managed success rates of 83.7% vs 83.8%…and both missed on a position posting a score of 3 or less…with a 30 point alternative on the bench…it was a potential 195.3 to 188.1 victory for X-Factor…both scores would have qualified as the highest ever recorded in the TBFL…X-Factor went from Chump-2-Champ for the 4th time in their history…they were the last team to complete the feat between Weeks 5 and 6 of the 2015 Season…

This now makes the 4th 160+ Point game this season with only 4 Weeks played…tied with 2011 and 2012 for 2nd most in any Season behind the 7 earned in 2013…there has been at least 1 in every Season since 2007…at least 2 in every season since 2010…until 2017 when 0 were earned…There has been a 160+ point game in Every Regular Season Week…but never in Wild Card Weekend, the Empire Cup, or the Fantasy Bowl…

Chump of the Week

UO Grandmasters took the early lead in this race with a -7.0 outing from the Vikings defense on Thursday Night…after Sunday’s Early games…Husslers sat in the bottom slot with 46.0 points…just behind the 47.10 mark from Gorilla Warfare…the PM games had them swap positions with Warfare on the bottom rung 75.60 to 77.65…and after Sunday Night action…only 3 teams sat under the century mark (GWF|75.60, UOG|83.10, HUS|87.65)…all with players in the Monday contest….Eric was boosted by Kareem Hunt to reach 116.0…Husslers got a Touchdown from Travis Kelce to climb to 108.45…but Emmanuel Sanders and the Broncos Defense managed only 12 more points for Miller…and Gorilla Warfare claim their 2nd Chump of the Week award of the Season with 87.65 points…this is now the 3rd time all but 1 team has crossed the 100 point mark in a single week…Gorilla Warfare climb into a tie with Money Inc for the 2nd most trophies earned as a Franchise at 21…

Notes & Numbers

Runs N Throses triumph over Husslers marks their 160th TBFL Win as a Franchise…they are on a 6 Game Win Streak since last losing to Warriors 106.2 to 103.1 in Week 12 of last season…tied for the 5th longest streak of all time…and just 1 short of matching their Franchise Record of 7 (reached 2 times | 2008 Week 09 and 2011 Week 05)…

Hurricanes 130.1 to 111.95 victory over Fudgie Whales is their 5th straight in the overall series…which includes the 2016 Fantasy Bowl and the 2017 Empire Cup…

All 3 Teams on 3 or more game losing streaks came out with Wins in Week 4 (BBA|6, XFA|3, MNY|3)…

Alvin Kamara has at least 3 Receptions in every game of his Career…

POINTS

This is just getting out of hand….11 40 pointers in 4 weeks…

Thrashers keeps chugging along…even with the loss…to 637.05 points…the most points ever scored in the opening 4 Weeks…again supplanting Runs N Throses 2011 Season by over 50 points…in hindsight…Bay Area Thrashers holds the record (as Monster Mash) for the fewest points scored in a TBFL Season with 736 (2000)…a total they could easily pass in 5 Weeks of play this year…

And…it may not be officially fully researched…but 539.15 Points Against Warriors and 538.75 Points Against X-Factor are probably the highest of all-time after 4 Weeks of play…
