The 2020 Franchise Player deadline has passed and 65 players will be returning to action with their same team…This is 1 more than last year…why do we need all those weeks when we can get the same results in 4 days?…We did have a Franchise Player in every eligible round and at least 1 Player franchised at every position…This is the 3rd Season in a row where the Undrafted Free Agent Round was not fully utilized…

Quick FAQ:

The number shown for 2018 is the round the player was drafted in.
The number shown for 2019 is the lowest round that player can be franchised.
If you want to franchise two players with the same number (i.e. 7) one can be held in the 7th round, while the other will have to be held in the 6th or higher round.

The number shown for 2018 is the lowest round that player can be franchised.
If you want to franchise two players with the same number (i.e. 7) one can be held in the 7th round, while the other will have to be held in the 6th or higher round.

2017 Franchise Player List

The 2017 Franchise Player deadline has passed and 64 players will be returning to action with their same teams…This is a drop of 10 players from the 2016 Season…1 Full Round of picks…and is the lowest total of Franchise Tags issued since we started allowing the trading of Draft Picks in 2009 (Previously 65)…With some last minute trading…we still managed to keep at least 2 players in every eligible round…and thanks to FUD and UOG…at least 1 player at every position…There were only 2 fewer tags issued in the 1st 5 Rounds (16 tags vs 18)…We still have locked up all of the UFA slots in 6.09 thru 7.12…but in rounds 9 thru 12 we opened up 8 more slots from 2016 (13 tags vs 21)…

2016 Franchise Player List

The 2016 Franchise Player deadline has passed and 74 players will be returning to action with their same teams…Interesting in that it is only 3 less Franchise Tags than last year…but much more talent seems to be available at the top of the draft…essentially a full 6.17 rounds of the 2016 TBFL Draft are completed before we even begin. At least 2 players were franchised into every eligible round and all 5 positions were tagged.

2015 Franchise Player List

The 2015 Franchise Player deadline has passed and 77 players will be returning to action with their same teams…this is the most since 2012…and 1 short of the record set in 2010 (78 for math challenged)…essentially a full 6.33 rounds of the 2015 TBFL Draft are completed before we even begin. It was quiet for a few weeks…but everyone came alive in the last couple days with a flurry of trading…resulting in a player being franchised in every possible round.

No Kickers received tags this year.
