The 2012 Franchise Player deadline has passed and 77 players will be returning to action with their same teams. This is 1 player short of the record set in 2010. At least one player from every position has been kept, and at least 1 player in every eligible Franchise Round just like that season.

This is a reminder that the Franchise Player Deadline is two weeks from today on August 26, 2012. The 2012 TBFL Draft will be at Noon EST on the following Sunday September 2nd. So far I have received initial and partial franchise lists from most of you, but some owners have yet to submit anything.

The number shown for 2012 is the lowest round that player can be franchised.
If you want to franchise two players with the same number (i.e. 12) one can be held in the 12th round, while the other will have to be held in the 11th or higher round.

Hunter may have given up ownership of his TBFL Franchise, but that does not mean he is gone. This is the first of his weekly(?) columns for the season breaking down the competition in the Tampa Bay Fantasy League. The 2011 Franchise Player Deadline has passed with 66 players being protected by their current teams. A lot of trading took place this year leading up to the deadline between teams that had players to protect and those that did not but had the valuable Round 10 to 12 slots available.
